Sorry to crash your Dash with pics, but I went on a photo adventure today. Lindsay has turned me into a monster..
1. We got up at 6:30 today and went to the beach. It was pretty cold so I didn’t jump in, rather I went to get some pics. There was a bulldozer doing something to the beach and a closed sign. Done Deal
2. Right next to downtown Perth is Kings Park, the largest in-city park in the World. Bigger than Central Park. It’s huge and on top of this big hill next to the city. Very photogenic. Anyways, at the bottom of the hill, right next to the river and the highway is this tiny nature park with a Lake and a small nature path. This was taken from across a little body of water looking at a cool bridge. It was pretty dark in there and very quiet. Hard to realize you’re in the middle of a city.
3. The lake was home to many ducks. I was just messing around trying to get a picture of one and all of a sudden he flapped his wings. Turned out ok, but I wish I had a bigger zoom..
4. There are these birds ALL over that are just black and white. I’ve never seen a bird like this before. They remind me of penguins.
5. This is the lake next to the nature park. It’s a really nice place to sit and spend an afternoon. The hill up there is Kings Park.
6. This is the city that will be home to me for half a year. Not a bad place to be. You got the city, parks, the river, mountains off in the distance. It’s a really beautiful place. Very photogenic.
7. There’s this abandoned building on top of the hill that King’s Park is on. What’s remarkable is that it’s really really skinny. No more than twenty feet wide. Hard to imagine what was there once. I was walking by and noticed this flowery guitar leaning against the wall in the building. It just seemed very poignant. Almost like it had been left there. I took this through the holes in the fence. You can kinda see one of the metal rods of the fence on the right side where it’s a bit lighter on the brick. I’m probably most proud of this picture. Except for the one I’m doing HDR on right now that’ll be up in a bit.
8. This is a shot of the building looking up. I liked that one part was a different color, and the shapes seemed really cool. Rule of thirds anyone?
This is just Part 1 of my adventure not including HDR. Stay tuned tomorrow.
